Guram Sharadze, the chairman of Parliamentary Interim Commission on Cases Relating Compatriots Living Abroad and the Return of National Treasures Existing Abroad, has held a press conference "Concerning the fortune of Basil Mkalavlishvili". According to his assessment after the decision of the court, Basil Mkalavlishvili is under house arrest. Guiltiness of Mkalavlishvili - burning of Jehovah Literature is not proved, that is also confirmed by almost 900 members of his parish and bringing an action against him is inadmissible - stated Guram Sharadze.

The deputy has publicly burnt Jehovah Literature in the hall and stated that if this action is regarded as guilt he is also ready to answer for it. According to him Mkalavlishvili should not be accused. But an action should be brought against those who bring contraband literature into the country. According to Guram Sharadze such fact took place in Poti custom-house some weeks ago and he asked General Procurator to investigate the case.

Guram Sharadze has stated that today he will perform the act of burning the Jehovah Literature before the building of General Procurator's office as well.
