Media and Society 26 Sep 2025
The Foreign Relations Committee held meetings in the Slovakian Parliament
The Delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee, headed by the Chair, Nikoloz Samkharadze, held meetings in the Parliament of Slovakia.

The Delegation members met with Richard Glück, Chair of the Defense and Security Committee of the Slovakian Parliament; Paula Puskarova, Chair of the Education, Sports and Youth Committee; and Michal Stuška, Deputy Chair of the European Affairs Committee.

The central topics of the meetings included the security issues, domestic political processes, the EU integration of Georgia and the cooperation in respective sectors.

At the meeting with the Chair of the Defence and Security Committee, the parties exchanged information on security challenges, reviewed the Russia-Ukraine war and the threats it poses, and the economic issues faced by the two countries due to the tense geopolitical situation in the region.

At the meeting with the Chair of the Education, Sports and Youth Committee, the discourse encompassed the education problems and the school reform undertaken by Slovakia, as well as its positive outcomes. Georgian MPs expressed their views on the education reform in Georgia.

The meeting also took place with the Deputy Chair of the European Affairs Committee, during which the delegation members emphasised the perceived unfair approach of the EU institutions towards Georgia.

Slovak Members of Parliament reaffirmed their support for the EU integration, other foreign political priorities and the sector cooperation with Georgia.

The Parliamentary Delegation, headed by Nikoloz Samkharadze, is composed of the Foreign Relations Committee members: Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the EU Integration Committee, and Irakli Kadagishvili, Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee.
