.
"We continue the practice of hosting foreign ambassadors at the Foreign Relations Committee to discuss their country's foreign policy priorities. Today, we are pleased to welcome Ambassador Hadas Meitzad from our friendly nation. We hope for a productive and peaceful discussion. Unfortunately, just a few days ago, we witnessed a barbaric attack in Israel. This terrorist attack has tragically claimed the lives of approximately 1,300 civilians, according to the latest reports. We would like to request a moment of silence to honor the memory of these victims", - Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, stated.
The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee expressed his support for Israel in the fight against terrorism and once again confirmed the unwavering will of the Georgian people for a high-level partnership with the state of Israel.
The Ambassador thanked Georgia for its solidarity and support to Israel.
"My beloved homeland, Israel, is facing incredibly challenging days. We have tragically lost over 1,300 of our fellow citizens to the violence perpetrated by "Hamas" terrorists. "Hamas" is an extremist organization with uncontrolled factions driven by hatred. Their goal is to harm our citizens and destroy the state of Israel”, - Hadas Meitzad stated.
According to her, this attack carried out by "Hamas" is directed against everything that Israel, Georgia, America, and the rest of the civilized world believe in.
"We are confident in our victory in this war. Numerous countries have demonstrated their steadfast support for the Jewish people and the state of Israel. In cities like Tbilisi and Batumi, we have witnessed many buildings illuminated with the colors of the Israeli flag. We deeply appreciate Georgia's solidarity with our nation. We have heard your government's official statements and its support for our people. As we mourn the loss of lives, our prayers are with the safety and well-being of all our citizens, especially the women and children”, - the Ambassador of Israel to Georgia remarked.
Following the report, the session of the Foreign Relations Committee continued in a closed-door session.
