Salome Kurasbediani partaking in the Parliamentary Plenum of Energy Community

The Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Salome Kurasbediani participated in the Parliamentary Plenum of the Energy Community in Vienna.
The Plenum attendees discussed compliance with the decarbonization roadmap, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and its possible impact on the Energy Community member states. As noted, the hereof mechanism envisages the carbon pricing on imported goods from third countries to the EU and hence, it is paramount to ensure timely and respective adaptation by the EC member states to prevent threats to the integration into the energy market.
The Plenum aimed at facilitating of the functional energy market for the benefit of all citizens. The Plenum agenda includes the meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss the sustainable development of energy and the potential social impact of scheduled reforms.
The Plenum was attended by the representatives of the National Parliaments of the EC signatory countries and the delegates from various countries.
