Rules and Procedural Issues Committee Approving Early Termination of MP’s Credentials of Zaal Udumashvili

The Committee discussed and approved the early termination of credentials of MP Zaal Udumashvili.
According to the Chairman of the Committee, Irakli Kadagishvili, pursuant to the Rules of Procedure, the Committee established the authenticity of Zaal Udumashvili's written statement and, accordingly, endorsed the early termination of his term as a Member of Parliament.
Levan Bezhashvili, a member of the faction “United National Movement”, expressed a desire to hold consultations on the protection of the principle of proportional representation of inheritance of credentials.
“Many members of the United National Movement still believe that they are in the illegitimate parliament. The issue you are talking about, in legal terms, to some degree, can be a good reason to consult. However, the Chairman of your party voluntarily leaves the Parliament. If the political context implies that the parliament is an effective political body, where, regardless of the position, the MP should work, consultations can be held on this issue as well”, - Guram Macharashvili, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, stated.
The Committee voted in favor of the conclusion on the early termination of Zaal Udumashvili’s credentials as a Member of Parliament.
The document will be submitted to the Bureau.
