The Procedural Issues Committee approved the recognition of the Powers of MP for Daji Kovziridze

The Procedural Issues Committee deliberated on the recognition of the Powers of MP for Daji Kovziridze.

As David Matikashvili, Chair of the Committee, elucidated, based on the documents provided by the Central Election Commission, the Committee considered it expedient to recognise the Powers of MP of the member of the Political Union “Gakharia for Georgia”, Daji Kovziridze.

The Parliament terminated the Powers of MP of Rusudan Tevzadze ahead of time on November 25 on the basis of her personal application.

Today the Committee also deliberated on the registration of the initiative group of citizens established to realise the right of the submission of the Draft Law on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons, with the initiative of at least 25,000 electors.

As the Chair of the Committee noted, based on the scrutiny of the documents, the Committee has determined that the application and enclosed material are submitted in adherence to the requirements of paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 123 of the Rules of Procedure. Hence, the Committee considered it expedient to approve the registration of the group.

The initiative group will receive the registration certificate and an example of the application form established by the Committee for the collection of signatures of supporters.
