Meeting of Shalva Papuashvili with Representatives of Civil Society Organizations on EC’s Recommendations

The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili met with representatives of civil society organizations.
Twelve recommendations from the European Commission and the civil sector's role in their implementation were reviewed during the meeting, which followed the structure set by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgia.
Shalva Papuashvili put a lot of emphasis on the sector organizations' active participation in the work process and work plan.
The Speaker stressed the value of tight, productive collaboration between the civil sector and the Parliament.
"It was a really significant and fascinating meeting. One of the proposals is that the civil sector should be involved in all matters and that cooperation with them be ensured. A solid precondition for making the best decisions at this time is to pay closer attention to the formats of cooperation and hold tools to maximize the degree of inclusivity as much as feasible. As a result, I believe that this was one of the most crucial social issues covered during the meeting today. At this time, no precise information or choices have been made in relation to any particular matters. The important thing is that the inclusive process itself, with its high level of inclusivity and enhanced productivity, deserves to be praised and highly assessed", - Mikheil Sarjveladze stated.
The Chairman of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, and representatives of non-governmental organizations took part in the meeting.
