Shalva Papuashvili: The Parliament is opening the autumn session on September 5

“Tomorrow, September 5, we open the autumn session and the Parliament resumes with the routine session regime. The Committees, despite the accomplished session period, were keeping their activity in summer and summer was very busy in this regard”, - the Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Bureau.
The session agenda for tomorrow includes the early termination of powers for Ketevan Dumbadze and David Sergeenko.
As the Speaker underlined, the agenda also includes the voting for four non-judicial members of the High Council of Justice and called on all political groups to support the candidates.
“As you know, it is one of the 12 recommendations. 5 months have passed since the candidates were nominated and interviewed. During this period, I haven't heard any negative position concerning these four candidates and thus, please, take this issue from the perspective that it is paramount for compliance with the recommendations and do our best to elect these non-judicial members”, - he added.
The candidates nominated to the HCJ are: Rusudan Kvinikadze, Goga Kikilashvili, Levan Nemsadze and Nino Nishnianidze.
The agenda for the current session week also includes the draft resolution envisaging the set-up of the Fact-Finding Commission on the Disaster in Shovi; the draft is initiated by the Faction “United National Movement – Unified Opposition “Unity Makes Strength”.
The autumn session of the Parliament opens tomorrow at 12h00 with the State Anthem.
