Shalva Papuashvili hosting the President of the National Assembly of Armenia in Telavi

H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, hosts his Armenian counterpart, the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, H.E. Alen Simonyan, in Telavi within the framework of the unofficial visit.
The counterparts reviewed the escalating dynamics of the Georgia-Armenia relations, which are propelling the two countries to a more elevated level of strategic partnership.
Parliamentary cooperation was the primary focus. The extensive agenda of 2024 and the mutually beneficial bilateral visits were emphasised. Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening their collaboration in the legislative sphere.
The discourse also encompassed the geopolitical shifts occurring on a global scale and the prevailing situation in the South Caucasus. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating for the enhancement of peace, stability, and trust within the South Caucasus. The potential and advantages of the Caucasus as a transit corridor were further emphasised.
Shalva Papuashvili commended Armenia’s aspiration to maintain dialogue with the European Union. He stated that Georgia aligns with the European perspective of Armenia and expressed his commitment to sharing Georgia’s experiences.
