Parliament Approving Termination of Credentials of Tamar Taliashvili upon Her Being Appointed as Resident Representatives of Georgia to Council of Europe

The Chair of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee, Irakli Kadagishvili introduced the draft resolution to the Parliament and noted that pursuant to the President’s decree N28/09/03 of September 28, 2022, Tamar Taliashvili has been appointed as a resident representative of Georgia to the Council of Europe.
"The Committee believes that in accordance with Article 39, Clause 5, Sub-Clause "B" of the Constitution of Georgia and Article 6, Clause 2, Sub-Clause "B" of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Georgia, the credentials of Tamar Taliashvili, a member of the Parliament of Georgia, should be terminated before the term of office”, - Irakli Kadagishvili noted.
The decision was approved by 67 votes.
The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili congratulated Tamar Taliashvili on her appointment as the resident representative of Georgia in the Council of Europe, wished her success in her future work, and thanked her for her service in the Parliament.
"Ms. Tamari is an outstanding professional, an outstanding patriot, and an outstanding female politician, and I am sure that these qualities will also make her an outstanding diplomat. I want to wish her success on behalf of the Parliament of Georgia", - Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Plenary Session.
The working experience of the First Deputy Chair of the Education and Science Committee, member of the Faction “Georgian Dream”, Tamar Taliashvili in the CoE representative structures started with her status as a member of the Georgian Self-Government Delegation in 2017. In 2018, the CoE Congress elected T. Taliashvili as Vice-President of the Organization in Strasbourg. Within the Parliamentary Delegation, T. Taliashvili was elected as the rapporteur of the PACE Education, Culture, Science and Youth Committee in 2021, and later, as a Chair of the PACE Media and Information Society Subcommittee in January 2022.
