The Defense and Security Committee deliberated on the legal initiatives of the Government for the II reading.

The Parliamentary Secretary of the Government, Vakhtang Bachiashvili introduced the Bill on Planning and Coordination of the National Security Policy and the respective legal package.

According to him, the amendments concerning the liquidation of the National Security Council and the annulment of its Office have been revised with the Staff of the Committee and the Legal Department to refine sundry paragraphs.

The reporter also introduced the Bill on the Structure, Authority and Activity Rule of the Government.

The Bill entitles the state bodies of special purpose to also establish state subordinate agencies other than the Ministry’s administration. The amendments are related to the transfer of the Intelligence Service to the State Security Service of Georgia.
