The Parliament considers the draft by T. Mechiauri and N. Ebanoidze on organic law on National Bank as the MPs stated at the briefing.

“We till the last minute discussed the offers by Business Ombudsman, we conversed with the Bank Association, commercial banks. They asked the time from 1 week to 1 month. For instance, commercial banks asked suspension of consideration for 1 month, the Presidential administration as well made the statement about additional consultations. If we consider that today the plenary has failed, then the Friday agenda will be overloaded. So I think we can postpone consideration for 1 week and use this time for consultations with the bank sector, Presidential administration and other business circles, as well as international organizations in case of will”, - T. Mechiauri stated.

The Budget and Finance Committee wants consultations to be more intensive. “Short-term postponement will not entail any damage, on the contrary, I think the more we assure everyone about the basis of this initiative to be improvement of the situation the better. As the plenary failed today, Friday session will be loaded. This is the ground to prolong discussions till the first Committee hearing”, - N. Ebanoidze stated.
