The guest spoke about IOM activity in Georgia, ongoing and forthcoming projects. “Cooperation with the Committee on Diaspora is very important. We cooperate with the Staff of the State Minister on Diaspora, try to increase potential thereof to develop the Georgian model of Diaspora cooperation”, - she stated.

At this stage the web-portal is being developed to include social networks. “Our activity in migration management is wide. For years we work on voluntary return of Diaspora to homelands. Our work includes labor migration issues, monetary transfers etc. We try to eliminate all the ways of illegal migration. We cooperate with Georgian Government with relevant mandate. We are open for enlargement of cooperation”.

Gubaz Sanikidze spoke about situation on migration. 20% of population has migrated. The bigger part of them cannot form Diasporas. He asked for held in this term. “One of the largest Diaspora is in Russia. Due to political situation, we have lost contact. We shall protect their rights in which we are restricted. Situation of our Diaspora in Europe is also important, the bigger part of which is in Greece. They are capable, active compatriots striving to develop”. The parties thanked each other and expressed hope for further cooperation.
