The meeting of Gubaz Sanikidze and Shalva Kiknavelidze with the President of Diaspora Investment Support Association, Giorgi Svanidze

The guest spoke about the activity of the society and principles and objectives, as well as the future plans. He underlined necessity of close cooperation with the Parliament. “Such meetings will enhance Diaspora investments in Georgia, will facilitate budget increase and create work places”.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy-State Minister on Diaspora Issues, Zaal Sarajishvili. He spoke about close contacts with Diaspora organizations worldwide. The Ministry plans to sign the memorandum with the association on cooperation and joint projects.
Gubaz Sanikidze emphasized importance of Diaspora organizations and stated that Diaspora is one of the strongest weapon and power for the state. It is proved by the small nations such are Jews and Irish. They used Diasporas for progress and security of their countries. Georgia needs its Diasporas to be involved in development of the country.
“One million Georgians beyond the country cannot participate in construction of Georgia and it is a problem. These are the most talented, workaholic people. They have the strongest will to participate in construction of their country”. It was noted that the law on compatriots abroad and Diaspora shall be improved. “We are ready to meet before spring session and consider these issues”, - Sh. Kiknavelidze stated. The parties agreed to hold the joint sitting for the presentation of the association and sharing information and opinions.
