The Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Mr. Kakhaber Kuchava held the meeting with the EU Ambassador, H.E. Janos Herman.

The parties discussed environmental protection in Georgia and touched upon importance of environmental strategy. As noted, no due attention was attracted to this issue in recent years. Though, it is one of the priorities and Georgia plans to intensify cooperation with EU.

“We spoke about importance of environmental protection, about necessity of Georgia to enhance activity in this direction. We underlined the fact the EUAA obligations in this direction are to be implemented and we planned various interesting directions for future cooperation”, - K. Kuchava stated. Support of EU for enforcement of environmental laws is important.
