The Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Roman Kakulia met with the members of the Economic, Finance and Monetary Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Thailand.

The parties discussed the economic development model of Georgia and the challenges Georgia encounters against the background of the free trade agreements.

The guests asked about accumulation of the due amounts for the social protection programs under the condition of low taxes. The Thai MPs asked about the competitive milieu in Georgia and the advantages for the investor.

The parties touched upon the economic capacity of Georgia deriving from the free trade agreements and the geographical location.

R. Kakulia introduced the infrastructural projects, resources in energy sphere, as well as Anaklia Port construction, water resources and agricultural potential.

The Thai MPs invited the Georgian Delegation to Thailand to attend the Parliamentary Forum of Eastern Asian countries dedicated to exchange of the experience in economic development in 2019.
