The Chair of Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Teimuraz Chkuaseli met with IOM Georgia Mission Head, Iliania Derilova. The parties discussed IOM activity in Georgia, ongoing and implemented projects and future cooperation priorities.

The meeting was initiated by Iliania Derilova. She introduced activity of IOM in various directions.

“Our directions are migration and development, as well as diaspora human resources deployment. We have temporary exchange programs, we invite diaspora representatives to share their experience with the respective structures. We also facilitate to 60 temporary exchange with representatives of Georgian diaspora in various countries. Along with the Ministry, we created Diaspora web-portal. It is the virtual area for relation with diaspora in economic, social, cultural and scientific directions”, - she stated.

“It is one of the useful and powerful organizations acting in Georgia. The primary objective is to bring our representatives back to Georgia. In this regards, they have significantly succeeded. Only from Greece, they brought 500 persons back. During their activity, the number exceeds 2000. It is impressive. I had questions and she gave comprehensive answers. We also considered joint projects and future cooperation prospects”, - Teimuraz Chkuaseli stated.
