On March 16, the Deputy Chair of the Faction and Bolnisi Single Mandate MP, Gogi Meshveliani met with the Students’ Parliament interns of the Education, Science and Culture Committee and introduced the legislative and single mandate activity, as well as the municipal reform.

He spoke about the dynamics of development of municipality in the nearest history and European experience. He introduced his opinion about the reform in this directions scheduled for 2018 and noted that the executive and legislative authorities elaborate the joint strategy for enhancement of municipalities and for decentralization.

The strategy aims at enhancement of transparency, fiscal independence of the municipalities and public involvement therein. According to the students, the contact between the local authorities and the local residents has increased during the last 5 years.

The communication is improved and today, the citizens are enabled to submit their needs to the authority. G. Meshveliani answered the questions and was cognizant with the opinions of the students about facilitation to public involvement.
