The Parliament to start the interviewing of the Candidates for the Supreme Court Judges on November 25

The Legal Issues Committee starts the interviewing of four Candidates for the Supreme Court Judges on November 25.
“The Committee will hear 2 candidates per day. The interview with the first candidate starts at 10h00, and at 16h00 with the second candidate”, - the Chair of the Committee, Anri Okhanashvili stated.
The High Council of Justice has submitted 4 candidates to the Parliament – Genadi Makaridze, Nino Sanodze, Tamar Okropiridze and Tea Dzimistarashvili.
The interviewing shall be held according to the I reading procedure of the Bill pursuant to Article 111 of the Rules of Procedure at the plenary session. Hence, the Faction “Georgian Dream” shall have 75 minutes, Faction “Reforming Group” – 15 minutes, Faction “Lelo – Partnership for Georgia” – 15 minutes, Faction “United National Movement” – Unified Opposition “Unity Makes Strength” – 31 minutes, Political Group “Girchi” – 15 minutes, Political Group “Citizens” – 15 minutes, Political Group “European Socialists” – 15 minutes, and non-Faction MPs – 33 minutes in total for the interview.
As A. Okhanashvili noted, the non-Parliamentary subjects will as well be allowed to ask questions, namely: Chair of the Bar Association, Director of the Legal Aid Service, Public Defender, NGOs and academic circles – 75 minutes in total, which means 15 minutes per subject.
The interviewing process shall end on November 26.
