Georgian Parliamentary Delegation Holding Bilateral Meetings as IPU Convenes in Geneva for 148th Assembly Session

During the 148th Assembly Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva, the Georgian delegation has been engaging in bilateral meetings.

Meetings were held with the Speaker of the Parliament of Guyana, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Cape Verde, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Security Committee of the House of Representatives of Kazakhstan, and the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate of Pakistan. Discussions encompassed parliamentary cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral contexts, as well as the potential for collaboration in economic, cultural, educational, and other spheres. The Georgian delegation expressed gratitude for the steadfast support of Georgia's territorial integrity.

In a separate meeting with the British parliamentary delegation, ongoing political developments in Georgia were discussed. The British side welcomed the European Union's decision to grant candidate status to Georgia and reiterated its support for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

Heading the Georgian parliamentary delegation is First Vice-Speaker Giorgi Volski. The delegation also includes Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, First Deputy Chairman of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee Khatia Tsilosani, and member of the Foreign Relations Committee Davit Zilfimiani.
