Geneva hosts the IPU 139th Assembly and the joint meeting of the Association of the Secretaries General of the Parliaments attended by the Secretary General of Georgian Parliament, Givi Mikanadze and the MP, George Khatidze.

The delegates discussed accountability of the Government and Parliamentary oversight. G. Khatidze spoke about enhancement of the Parliamentary oversight function as a result of the Constitutional changes and touched upon the amendments to the Rules of Procedure and the accountability of the Government.

Mr. Mikanadze in his speech spoke about importance of the Staff in effective Parliamentary oversight, including enhancement of the Single Mandate MP Bureau (in terms of analysis of appeals of the citizens) and RIA establishment in Georgia.
