According to him, the independent candidate, Salome Zurabishvili is subject to the dirty campaign. Mr. Kobakhidze noted that the ruling party wants to hold civilized elections of European type and does not want to be similar to the marginal forces.

“We do not want the elections to run against the background of the black PR campaign as there are so many phrases in relations with Grigol Vashadze and his love to Russia, that he is the integral part of Russia and that we “elect” the integral part of Russia as the President of Georgia. We do not want to build our campaign on these facts. When a man speaks up that no matter whether he has a Russian passport or Georgian as it is important that Russia remains in his heart, and when such a person lodges his will to become the President of Georgia, of the country subject to the hostile attitude by Russia, it is a mere paradox. We do not speak about it as we do not want to be similar to him. You hear your speculations about Salome Zurabishivli, you hear the dirty campaign, traitor etc. The traitor, with his/her essence is the person cherishing love to the hostile country in his/her heart – and in this case, it is Grigol Vashadze.
