Meetings of Maka Botchorishvili and Levan Karumidze in Brussels

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and her First Deputy, Levan Karumidze hold meetings in Brussels. Within the framework of their working visit, they met with the Head of the Cabinet of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell Fontelles - Camilo Villarino Marzo.
The parties deliberated on the EU enlargement policy and the security challenges in the region, as well as EU-Georgia relations and the EU membership expectations of our country. The discourse included the progress of Georgia in compliance with the EU recommendations and the importance of the political decision of the EU.
Georgian MPs also held a meeting with the Managing Director for Eastern Europe, Central Asia at European External Action Service, Michael Siebert.
The meetings were as well held with the Ambassador of the Council of European Union presiding country, Spain - Elena Gómez Castro, a Resident Representative of Spain to the Policy and Security Committee; the Permanent Representative of Hungary to the EU, Ódor Bálint; and the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the EU, Arnoldas Pranckevičius.
