MPs attended the public funeral of Jansug Charkviani in Holy Trinity Cathedral and expressed condolences to the family of the poet and former counterpart.

“We lost the greatest person and creator. Since the age of 17, during 70 years Georgian people never stopped admiring him. His merit is evidenced with various state awards and literary prizes. On behalf of the Parliament, I would like to express my condolences to his family and friends”, - the Chair of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, Mariam Jashi stated.

J. Charkviani was the Member of Parliament in 1992-2004. He died on November 6 in the age of 86.
