Nino Iobashvili: Georgia condemns the Russian military aggression in Ukraine and supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine

The Deputy Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Nino Iobashvili took part in the OSCE PA online meeting on “ The role of the OSCE in addressing the war in Ukraine and its consequences”.

N. Iobashvili, being a member of the Parliamentary Delegation to OSCE PA, dwelt on the security and humanitarian challenges in the region caused by the Russian military aggression in Ukraine. In her speech, she condemned the aggressive actions of Russia and expressed her support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. According to her, the only mechanism to end the occupation and the war is the enhancement of international efforts.

“Against the ongoing tragedies, Georgia expressed its political and humanitarian support to Ukraine. Georgia condemns the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and calls on the international society to aggregate their efforts in regard to Georgia as well since Georgia has encountered the Russian aggression back in 2008 and in the early 90s. We, on a daily basis, face the grave consequences of the occupation on the occupied territories, where we witness the grave humanitarian and human rights state”, - she stated and called on the Russian Federation to fulfill the cease-fire agreement of 2008.

She hoped that the international society will intensify its efforts since the unanimity of the international community is crucial for ending the war and occupation.
