Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee, presented the committee's conclusion and the draft resolution on the issue of early termination of the term of office of MPs Kakhaber Kuchava, Badri Japaridze, Shalva Natelashvili and Elene Khoshtaria.

In accordance with the Constitution of Georgia and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, the rapporteur explained the reasons according to which the relevant draft resolutions were prepared.

According to I. Kadagishvili, the basis for the early termination of Kakhaber Kuchava's term of office is his personal statement, unreasonable absences from plenary sessions in the case of Elene Khoshtaria and Shalva Natelashvili, and conviction by the Tbilisi City Court in the case of Badri Japaridze.

Discussion of the issue continued amid political statements.

Representatives of the parliamentary opposition demanded additional explanations from the rapporteur on the termination of the term of office of MP Badri Japaridze and Shalva Natelashvili.

Badri Japaridze addressed the members of the Parliament with a statement and noted that despite the decision made by the Parliament, his spirit will not change.

"My spirit will not alter no matter where I am - whether I am in parliament or not - my country and my fellow citizens will always come first. I will continue to push for change in this country even if I do not have a mandate. Staying in the swamp means sinking into the swamp, which is something we must avoid. As a result, no decision, including the decision to end my mandate, will bring us down”, - Badri Japaridze stated.

Due to his health issues, Shalva Natelashvili was unable to participate in the session. The MPs voted on the draft resolution and terminated the credentials of the following members: Kakhaber Kuchava - 78 for, 5 against; Badri Japaridze - 77 for, 38 against; Shalva Natelashvili - 79 for, 28 against; and Elene Khoshtaria - 77 for, 9 against. Kakhaber Kuchava was praised by the Speaker for his service.

"I'd like to express my gratitude to Kakha Kuchava for his service in two convocations of parliament and for protecting the country's interests”, - Shalva Papuashvili said.
